Frequently asked questions
What's included, how billing works, and how we handle your data — the short answers.
What is HR for the People?
Companies spend billions of dollars on HR teams — and those teams protect the company, not you. We're on your side. HR for the People gives you real, best-in-class career guidance to help you find the best path forward and earn what you're worth. That's Pathfinder for figuring out your next move, Resume Amplifier for a resume that actually works, Fit Check for sizing yourself up against a real job posting, and Counterpunch for pushing back on an offer.
Will this guarantee me a job, a raise, or a better offer?
Think of us as a smart, well-informed second opinion — not a guarantee. We can't promise a specific outcome like a job offer, a raise, or a successful negotiation, and career moves always carry some risk: a lower offer than you hoped, a longer search, a path that doesn't pan out. Use what we give you alongside your own judgment, and bring in a lawyer, accountant, or licensed advisor for anything with real legal or financial stakes.
How do the plans work?
Every account gets one free run of any tool — Pathfinder, Fit Check, Resume Amplifier or Counterpunch. After that you can buy a single pass for one more full run ($2.99 once), or go unlimited for $4.99 a month or $24 a year.
How does the 7-day free trial work?
The trial applies to the monthly plan. Your card is captured up front but nothing is charged for seven days. Cancel any time before day 7 and you won't be charged. After day 7 it renews at $4.99 a month until you cancel.
How do I cancel?
From your account page. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep unlimited access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
What happens to my saved work if my plan ends?
Everything you've already generated stays readable — your saved offers, fit checks, resume reviews and career explorations. You'll need an active plan or a single pass to run new analyses.
Do you keep a copy of my resume or the documents I upload?
If you upload a resume, we use it to generate your results and don't keep a copy of it afterward. If you upload an offer letter or benefits document, we don't keep the file either — we pull out the relevant details, like role, compensation, and benefits, and discard the original document. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
What do you do with the data you gather?
We never sell your name, contact details, or other information that could identify you. When you upload an offer letter or benefits document, we pull out specific details — like role, compensation, and benefits — and don't keep the original file. We may build de-identified, aggregated data sets from those details and license or sell that aggregated data, for example to provide compensation and benefits benchmarking.
Can I get a refund?
Yes — you can request a refund within 14 days of your order date. Paddle, as merchant of record, administers all refunds under its own refund policy. Start a refund request at paddle.net or email us at [email protected].
